While my college students were working on projects in the computer lab I caught two students playing poker instead. I was surprised because I thought of poker as an oldtimer's game echoing back to the Old West. Boy was I wrong!

According to a recent USA Today article poker is so popular that every Sunday night college students go online to compete for scholarship money in a poker tournament. It's just one indicator of a poker craze that is sweeping the country.

Poker has grown in popularity not only because of an acceptance of gambling, but also because of the Internet, gambling riverboats and even college majors on gambling and casinos. Folks are going out for anything poker, so how about creating clever gift baskets that your customers can give to their favorite poker players? Think of a way to tie poker and Valentine's Day together, for example, and you'll be hot on a trend sure to increase your profits.
