When you walk into Park Place Lexus in Dallas Metroplex, you will be greeted by fresh flowers everywhere. In addition, you'll have access to wireless Internet, a portable DVD with movies, a cafe and soon will be able to practice your golf skills on a putting green while waiting for service, among other perks.
 

Jordan Case, president of Park Place Lexus, was recently quoted in the June 2006 issue of Sales and Marketing Management, "Buying a car doesn't rank up there with the top five things you like to do, so we try to make the experience different. I'm always trying to raise the bar and think about how we can improve."

 

This attention to detail doesn't stop with the atmosphere and customer service. Employees at all levels are called members, not employees. Each year at their annual awards, Case likes to personalize incentives, like the time he gave a member and her kids a trip to Arizona so they could visit her parents, whom she hadn't seen in two years. 

It's no surprise then that Park Place Lexus is one of six winners of  the 2005 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, a business-excellence honor awarded by the U.S. government. The kind of excellence that leads to this award, however, doesn't result from closed executive meetings. Case observes the service by other companies, sends his members in the field to experience various services, and listens to customer feedback and suggestions. With customer satisfaction index at 97%, it's clear that Park Place Lexus has embraced a holistic approach to service from which we can all learn.
